    I participated in the mixed martial arts program under Bill Eastlick for about 18 months. He not only has an incredible wealth of knowledge on the sport, but also knows how to integrate all of the different fighting disciplines into one fluid system. Nice staff, great place to go to just learn and get into great shape, and wonderful place for aspiring jiu jitsu and MMA practitioners.

    I’ve trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for many many years, and bar none, the classes, atmosphere, and the instructors are world class. You will not find a more laid back, but hard working gym anywhere in the area.

    The culture and instruction at Fairfax is second to non and I encourage anyone interested in learning about the arts they teach to check out the school. You will be in good hands with both students and instructors. Bill Eastlicks MMA classes are a well oiled machine and I am consistantly impressed by how well rounded and grounded each of his students is. I stop by every chance I get when I am in the area to get some mat time in.

    I started training MMA March 2009 and couldn’t of picked a better gym. Whether you want to compete or just get in the best shape of your life this gym is for you. Bill, as well as Dave, Sam, and Mark Jones are the best in the area at helping you reach goals that you may not have thought possible. I’ve learned so much from them as well as my fellow teammates which has molded me into the person I am today. I am forever grateful for the time and knowledge they have passed to me and that is why this will not be just a gym, but a family.

    Bill Easlick, Dave Jacobs, Mark Jones, and Matt Nielsen have coached me over the past three years. Their expertise and skillful teaching methods helped me obtain a welterweight title and guided me to a professional fighting career. Fairfax Jiujitsu has all the necessary factors to build great fighters: great coaches, tough training partners, and the willingness to go the extra mile to achieve personal and team goals.

    This gym is great! I’ve been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu there for about a year and a half, and I love it. The build out, which increased the main mat area and added a huge second set of mats, has signficantly improved the experience. There is plenty of room for rolling, even during large classes.

    The BJJ classes are now segmented into “all welcome” classes, and advanced classes. There are a total of 9 BJJ classes per week, plus an open gym on Saturdays usually. The classes are an hour and half each, so it’s a better workout than other places that only have hour long classes. A typical class is 30 minutes of warmups and drills, 30 minutes of instruction and practicing techniques, and 30 minutes of rolling.

    The skill levels of everyone at the gym are pretty varied, which is good. It seems like there are new people signing up constantly, so there’s a good mix of advanced belts and newbies. Promotions are defintely earned here, not just given out, which makes it even sweeter when you get one.

    I’ve also recently begun to train MMA and Mauy Thai kickboxing there as well. As a beginner in these areas, the instructors have taken extra time out to guide me through some of the more elementary stuff, even while still running an entire class for everyone else.
