Rollyson Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Hollywood, Florida, offers white collar Jiu Jitsu, boxing, cardio boxing, street self defense, Judo and classes for women and children. In addition, we have a full MMA cage and champion instructors as well. Head Instructor Carlos Rollyson is a Carlson Gracie BJJ Black Belt, and the head of Team Rollyson.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Rollyson was introduced to Jiu-Jitsu at an early age. He was only 7 when he began training at home with his father, soon after he began training with 9th degree black belt grandmaster Carlson Gracie. In conjunction with his Jiu-Jitsu training, he also trained Judo, with Takise Ueda a 7th dan master. Although training both Jiu-Jitsu and Judo at the same time was not easy, his determination and dedication paid off.
In 1980, Carlos achieved his Black Belt in Judo; 2 years later, he earned his Black Belt from Carlson Gracie. In 2003, after 21 years of practicing and teaching, Carlson Gracie presented him with his current rank, a 7th degree Black Belt. Carlos has won numerous competitions. His most prominent win came in 1994 at the Brazilian National Competition where he defeated Rolker Gracie and Eduardo Mano. He is one of the few instructors here in South Florida who is accredited by the Sao Paulo Jiu-Jitsu Federation as well as the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Confederation.
During the past 25 years, Carlos has taught in schools throughout Brazil and South Florida. He has also provided tactical training to the DEA and FBI of Miami, as well as local Law Enforcement. He has now been blessed with the opportunity to open his own school here in Hollywood, and would like to extend an invitation for you to come join our team. Experience for yourself the knowledge and skill that Carlos extends to all of his Jiu-Jitsu students.
