Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy of Sacramento offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for all ages, with separate classes for women and children. Classes are led by Head Instructor David Terry, a Black Belt under Rickson Gracie. David has over 20 years of Martial Arts experience, including an extensive knowledge of the original Gracie Self Defense Program. He has trained and competed in Judo and holds a Brown Belt in that art. He also holds a Black Belt in Aiki Jiu-Jitsu. He has also competed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since he was a Blue Belt. David has been training in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu since 1990 and has studied under Rickson Gracie for the past 9 years.
David continues to train with Rickson Gracie and his family. He has also trained at the original Gracie Academy in Rio de Janeiro Brasil, with Rolker and Royler Gracie. The program at David’s school is Jiu-Jitsu as taught by the Gracie family, “One must realize that all Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu originates from the Gracie family and not all Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the same.” So,choose an academy that is sanctioned by the Gracie family. The tradition and technical aspects of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu must be preserved.
David is available at his school six days a week to help guide you through the experience that is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Also, taught at the school is a comprehensive Women’s Self-Defense and an extensive Law Enforcement program. The academy is in Carmichael, California, located within the Sacramento Metropolitan Area.
